Amman: Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah and Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef have emphasized the importance of expanding economic, industrial, and trade cooperation to support broader Arab economic integration.
According to Jordan News Agency, during a videoconference held on Monday, the ministers highlighted the need for wider industrial and investment partnerships, focusing on priority sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food, and mining industries, alongside logistics services. The discussions underscored the necessity of strengthening collaboration in supply and procurement chains to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of national industries on both regional and international stages.
The ministers also reaffirmed their countries' dedication to fostering partnerships between the Jordanian and Saudi private sectors. They discussed creating an enabling environment for joint industrial and investment projects, which would generate new economic opportunities, boost mutual investments, and leverage the industrial and logistical strengths of both nations.
Additionally, the talks tackled the challenges hindering the growth of bilateral trade and proposed solutions through stronger coordination, improved cooperation mechanisms, and simplified trade procedures. These efforts aim to increase trade volume and ensure the sustainability of supply chains across the region.
Both ministers stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation between relevant authorities in Jordan and Saudi Arabia. They agreed to intensify joint meetings to further industrial and trade integration, support economic development, and strengthen food and industrial security, as well as regional supply chains.
