Jordan and Lebanon Explore Agricultural and Economic Collaboration

Amman: Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, and President of the Lebanese Economic, Social and Environmental Council (ESEC), Charles Arbid, engaged in discussions on mutual interests in the agricultural and economic sectors, focusing on enhancing cooperation and sharing expertise.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting took place at the ministry’s headquarters, where Hneifat emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Jordan and Lebanon. He highlighted the importance of strengthening joint efforts, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture.

The discussions were attended by Dr. Musa Shteiwi, President of Jordan’s Economic and Social Council. Hneifat provided an overview of Jordan’s agricultural sector, revealing that recent studies indicate the sector’s contribution to the national economy is about 23.5%. He also discussed the sector’s operational impact, its added value, and its role in community development, particularly in supporting youth and women in rural areas.
