Jordan and Iraq Explore Economic and Industrial Synergies

Baghdad: Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Qudah, met with Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, Mohammed Ali Tamim, in Baghdad on Sunday to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic, industrial, trade, and investment sectors.

According to Jordan News Agency, the two ministers explored opportunities for leveraging Jordan’s expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, encouraging Jordanian investors and manufacturers to establish production lines in Iraq for pharmaceuticals, construction materials, and food processing industries.

Discussions also covered standardization, quality control, and certification cooperation, aiming to facilitate trade and industrial integration between the two countries.

Minister Qudah reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to supporting Iraq’s development efforts, highlighting the significant growth in bilateral relations over recent years.

Qudah is leading the Jordanian delegation at the Joint Jordanian-Iraqi Trade Committee meetings, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration to enhance trade and investment ties.
