Israel Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon Result in Multiple Fatalities and Injuries


Amman: Nine people, including a Lebanese soldier, were killed in Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, with multiple others injured.



According to Jordan News Agency, eight civilians lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes on Al Sahabiya and the market of Bint Jbeil.



The Lebanese Army reported that a soldier was killed and five others were injured, including an officer, following a direct strike on a checkpoint in Al Amiriyah on the Qalila-Tyre road. Separately, the UNIFIL command confirmed in a statement that two of its members were killed and two were injured when their vehicle exploded near Bani Hayya.



The statement condemned deliberate attacks on peacekeepers as violations of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that since March 2, the death toll has reached 1,247, with 3,680 wounded.
