Irbid: Acting Director of Education for Qasabet Irbid District, Huda Shatnawi, met on Monday with a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to explore ways to enhance cooperation in implementing environmental activities in the district’s schools. The meeting aimed to discuss the expansion of existing initiatives and the introduction of new programs to promote environmental awareness among students.
According to Jordan News Agency, the delegation included JICA volunteer coordinator Kazuhisa Norimatsu and JICA Jordan Office representative Sawsan Haddad. The meeting was also attended by the head of the activities department at the directorate, Ali Shiyab. Shatnawi emphasized that the collaboration with JICA has been instrumental in implementing environmental and awareness initiatives that have positively influenced students’ behavior. She underscored the importance of expanding this partnership to include more schools in the district.
Norimatsu reaffirmed JICA’s commitment to supporting the directorate in promoting environmental initiatives. He emphasized the agency’s dedication to fostering a culture of sustainability among students, which is seen as crucial for the future. Haddad expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated JICA’s support for Jordanian schools through joint programs that align with the priorities of the education sector.
