Irbid:The head of the Greater Irbid Municipality Committee, Imad Al-Azzam, engaged in discussions with a delegation from China's Yutong Bus Company to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in the city. The talks focused on leveraging Yutong's expertise in electric bus manufacturing.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Azzam highlighted the municipality's intention to implement an advanced urban transport project designed to improve movement between the city's districts. He emphasized the necessity of securing funding to realize this project, which aligns with the city's shift toward clean energy, making electric buses a crucial component.
The Chinese delegation pointed out that Yutong's buses are top sellers in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. They also mentioned Yutong's existing contract with the Greater Amman Municipality to supply buses for the Bus Rapid Transit project.
The visit to Irbid by Yutong's delegation follows Al-Azzam's tour of Yutong's main factory in Zhengzhou, China, during his recent trip to the country.
