Irbid Chamber and Indonesian Embassy Explore Enhanced Trade Ties

Irbid: Chairman of the Irbid Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Shouha and Indonesian Embassy Commercial Attach© Alfan Amiruddin discussed ways to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Jordan and Indonesia and expand investment partnerships during a meeting at the chamber's headquarters on Tuesday.

According to Jordan News Agency, Shouha reaffirmed the chamber's commitment to supporting the commercial sector in Irbid and addressing challenges facing traders to enhance the business environment and foster productive economic partnerships with countries worldwide. He also highlighted the strength of Jordanian-Indonesian relations and their continued growth across various fields.

Shouha emphasized that Irbid possesses promising economic and investment potential, supported by its strategic geographic location as a vital border governorate and a key gateway to the national economy. This positions Irbid as a commercial and investment hub serving local and regional markets.

For his part, Amiruddin reviewed the current state of trade between Jordan and Indonesia, outlining key exports and imports and highlighting opportunities to further develop commercial ties and increase bilateral trade.

He also presented major international trade fairs and economic forums organized by Indonesia, noting that they offer Jordanian companies and traders opportunities to explore new products and industries and discuss investment and cooperation prospects.

The Indonesian delegation invited the Irbid Chamber of Commerce and the governorate's business community to participate in an international economic and trade exhibition to be held in Indonesia next August. The exhibition aims at strengthening business-to-business engagement and exploring opportunities for joint partnerships and trade agreements.
