Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi survived an assassination attempt with a booby-trapped drone that targeted his residence in Baghdad’s Green Zone early Sunday, leaving him slightly injured, according to an Iraqi security source.
Al-Kadhimi was not harmed and in good health, but ten of his security guards were injured in the attack, the source said.
“I am fine and among my people. Thank God,” the prime minister tweeted shortly after the attack, calling for calm and restraint, “for the sake of Iraq.”
