International Women’s Film Festival to Kick Off Next September in Tunis

The next session of the International Women’s Film Festival (Regards De Femmes) will be held from Sep. 23-27 in Tunis.

The Tunisian Federation of Film Societies (FTCC) announced the start of project submissions in various programs of the festival. The submissions will close on Aug. 5.

Projects must be directed by a woman, not exceed 30 minutes, made after Dec. 31, 2021 and must be in the original language with French or English subtitles.

The festival includes two programs; the official competition for short films and out-of-competition program for short and feature films.

FTCC will also organize a workshop in Hammamet’s International Cultural Centre to help develop short films that would benefit women filmmakers from the Arab region.

It is required that the workshop candidate be from the Arab region. All candidates must submit their resume and project, noting that the synopsis, treatments and any other details should be within two pages.

Established in October 2017, the International Women’s Film Festival (Regards De Femmes) is the first festival dedicated to women filmmakers. The festival offers an international program of films made by women and includes two awards; the grand prize and a prize for best film that gives a non-stereotypical view on women.
