Interior Minister lauds responsibility of citizens participating in solidarity protests with Palestinians

Minister of Interior Mazen Faraiah lauded the high responsibility spirit of Jordanian citizens who participated in the solidarity protests with the Palestinian brothers during the past days, and their keenness on abiding the law and cooperation with public security forces on the ground in order to maintain security and order and protect these protests.

Faraiah noted that protests expressed and is expressing Jordan’s firm and supportive position for the rights of the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle, and its stance against Israeli plans, attacks and aggressive practices, especially the aggression against the Gaza Strip in terms of house demolitions and an increase in the number of martyrs, in addition to the suffering of the Palestinian brothers from the Gaza Strip are experiencing as a result of this aggression and previous practices including the blockade imposed on the Strip and the repeated attacks.

The Minister of the Interior underscored his full confidence of Jordanian citizens’ constant concern to proceed with protests within their natural context while expressing theri patriotic stances in support of the Palestinian brothers and through cooperation with public security forces, since the exerted security efforts are focused on preserving public order and securing the necessary protection for the participants in these protests.

Faraiah said that the government will provide means that guarantee the peaceful expression of these sincere patriotic sentiments, by preserving the law and cooperating with security personnel who are mainly present to protect these set-ins and disallow a few to derail matters from their course by trying to break the law.

Faraiah emphasized the need to avoid approaching border areas in order to preserve the safety of everyone, and organize protests in places that would help protect and organize them in an optimal manner.
