Amman:The Correction and Rehabilitation Department (CRD) took part in the 2026 Reading Marathon on Tuesday, an event organized by the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation in collaboration with cultural and national institutions across the country.
According to Jordan News Agency, the department aims to cultivate a culture of reading among inmates, enhance their intellectual skills, and assist in their reintegration into society through this initiative.
Prison libraries experienced strong engagement from inmates, who were provided with a wide range of books and participated in cultural activities designed to promote ongoing learning and personal development.
Looking ahead, the department plans to continue expanding its educational and cultural programs. This effort is part of a broader rehabilitation strategy focused on human growth, with knowledge and awareness viewed as crucial for fostering positive behavioral changes.
