Industry Ministry Issues 403 Violations, Intensifies Market Oversight in March

Amman: The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply issued 403 violations against commercial establishments in March for breaching the provisions of the Industry and Trade Law and related regulations, including 345 violations for failure to display prices.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry stated that its Market Monitoring Directorate handled 150 complaints submitted by citizens through field monitoring teams across the Kingdom, taking the necessary measures to address them in a timely manner.

The Ministry added that inspection teams carried out 503 monitoring campaigns, covering 8,421 visits to commercial establishments across various governorates to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and instructions.

It noted that the Directorate continues to enforce the provisions of Industry and Trade Law No. 18 of 1998, including monitoring the availability and pricing of essential commodities, verifying price displays, overseeing wholesale stock levels, and addressing violations such as hoarding or refusal to sell goods, in addition to monitoring sales, clearances, and promotional offers.

The Ministry underscored the continuation of its inspection campaigns to maintain market stability and safeguard consumer rights, urging citizens to submit complaints and observations through its official communication channels.
