Zarqa: Industrial exports of Zarqa and Mafraq during the first 11 months of this year totaled $1.409 billion, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period last year, when exports stood at $1.184 billion. President of the Zarqa Chamber of Industry (ZCI) Fares Hammoudeh said on Saturday that November exports amounted to $108.3 million, reflecting an 18% decrease compared to November 2023, which saw exports of $133.2 million.
According to Jordan News Agency, exports to North American markets represented the largest share, accounting for 51% of total exports, valued at $715.2 million, a 36% increase compared to 2023. Exports to the United States alone totaled $679 million, up by 36%, while exports to Canada reached $32.4 million, recording a 26% rise.
Arab markets comprised 34% of total exports, valued at $483.1 million, a modest 2% growth. Iraq led Arab destinations with exports worth $184.4 million, increasing by 24%, while Saudi Arabia ranked second with $112.2 million in exports, marking an 11% declin

In terms of industry sectors, Leather and Garments Industries maintained the top spot with exports of $787.38 million, up 33%, while food and agricultural industries recorded $241.21 million, a 9% increase. However, construction industries saw a decline of 13%, with exports amounting to $91.36 million.
Hammoudeh emphasized the ZCI’s focus on enhancing exports by entering new markets and improving product quality. He also highlighted the importance of investing in industrial infrastructure and streamlining export procedures to achieve sustainable growth in the coming years.
