Doha: Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Ahmed Safadi, stated that His Majesty King Abdullah II’s speech at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Qatar marked a significant turning point in steering Arab joint efforts towards effective deterrence amidst escalating Israeli threats, which now jeopardize regional stability beyond Palestine.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi emphasized that the King’s precise and forthright words delineated a strategic vision rooted in the principle of indivisible Arab security. Any threat to an Arab state, such as the recent Israeli threats towards Qatar, is perceived as a direct assault on the entire Arab collective.
The statement further highlighted Jordan’s unwavering commitment to the Arab cause, reaffirming its leadership role in championing justice and stability within the Arab world. Safadi underscored the King’s call for transitioning from condemnation to action, stressing that coordinated Arab measures are now a strategic imperative. He asserted that the Arab response must be “clear, decisive, and deterrent,” forming a foundation for collective action that permits no delay or hesitation.
Additionally, the statement cautioned against the ongoing aggressive policies of the occupying state, compounded by international silence, urging a reevaluation of Arab and Islamic mechanisms. It advocated for establishing a unified stance with actionable decisions to effectively safeguard Arab national security and counter Israeli overreach.
Safadi concluded by advocating for Arab unity in confronting Israeli threats and crafting a collective political stance that aligns with the challenges faced, ultimately preserving the dignity, sovereignty, and cohesion of the Arab nation.
