German envoy visits Jordan’s Constitutional Court to increase judicial cooperation

President of Jordan Constitutional Court (JCC), Hisham Al-Tal, on Wednesday met with the German Ambassador to Amman, Bernhard Kampmann, in the presence of Director of Jordan Projects at Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law, Siraj Khan.

 

Speaking at the meeting, Al-Tal reviewed the development of Jordan’s constitutional life, lauding Germany’s interest in enhancing the level of joint cooperation with the JCC.

 

Kampmann, for his part, stressed his country’s keenness to exchange expertise and hold conferences and seminars on the constitutional judiciary, by all German institutions in this field.

 

This meeting came on the sidelines of a joint symposium held by the JCC and Max Planck Foundation, entitled: “The Role of the Constitutional Court in the Constitutional and Legal System,” which tackled interwoven work mechanisms of constitutional courts and the judicial system and impact of these courts’ mandatory verdicts, according to a JCC statement.
