German Envoy Highlights Strengthened Jordan-Germany Relations During His Majesty’s Berlin Visit

Berlin: German Ambassador to Jordan Bertram von Moltke emphasized that His Majesty’s visit to Berlin has reinforced the strong and enduring relationship between Jordan and Germany. Moltke remarked on the significance of His Majesty being the first Arab leader to be hosted by Chancellor Merz since he assumed office in May.

According to Jordan News Agency, Moltke characterized Jordan as an “indispensable and trusted partner” for Germany, especially in light of the challenging situation in Gaza and the recent developments in the occupied West Bank. The ambassador highlighted Germany’s decision to collaborate with Jordan in resuming an aid airlift to assist the people in Gaza as evidence of this partnership.

Moltke also pointed out that Chancellor Merz and King Abdullah II reached a consensus on the necessity of an immediate and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring unimpeded access to humanitarian aid, and working towards a negotiated political resolution based on a two-state solution. Furthermore, both leaders reiterated their opposition to any forced displacement of Palestinians from the occupied territories.
