Amman: The Economic Modernisation Vision’s second phase workshops concluded on Monday, aimed at assessing the progress of the first phase (2023-2025) and providing recommendations for the second phase (2026-2029).
According to Jordan News Agency, the 12-day sectoral workshops were hosted by the Royal Hashemite Court and involved around 400 experts, specialists, and representatives from the private sector, civil society organisations, academics, and media professionals.
The discussions focused on the implementation progress and outcomes of the first phase of the vision by identifying main strengths, challenges, impact indicators, and initiatives in the executive programme for various economic sectors. The goal was to offer practical recommendations to the government, which will hold additional workshops to aid the planning and implementation of the executive programme for the vision’s second phase (2026-2029).
The workshops’ outcomes are expected to enhance the quality of initiatives, ensure effective impact, and help sectors align with global and technological developments. Priority sectors covered included financial services and markets, water, transport and logistics, social protection, creative industries, tourism, agriculture and food security, health, education, green growth, industry, trade, urban development, energy, investment, mining, and ICT.
