GAM’s book fair hands out 2K books to reading enthusiasts

The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has handed out about 2,000 books during its free book fair event, which kicked off yesterday as the Kingdom designated September 29 the National Reading Day.

Director of GAM’s Central Public Libraries Department Thamer Shobaki said the initiative was launched in five locations Al-Nasr, Abu Alia, Wadi Al-Seer, Badr Nazzal, and the Mutah Library.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture said that designating the 29th of September each year as a National Reading Day is a government effort to encourage reading, which plays a role in promoting knowledge, culture and sustainable development.
