Amman:The Fuel Pricing Committee convened for its monthly policy meeting to establish the November benchmark retail prices for refined petroleum products, effective November 1. The committee's efforts aim to protect domestic consumers and economic sectors from international price spikes by continuing its policy of gradual price adjustments.
According to Jordan News Agency, the committee reviewed international benchmark prices throughout October, considering disruptions caused by regional geopolitical instability. The committee decided to maintain subsidies for diesel and kerosene to mitigate operating costs for public transport, industrial production, and household heating during the winter season.
For November, the committee has set the retail rates as follows Diesel remains fixed at 900 fils per liter, and Kerosene at 550 fils per liter. Meanwhile, Octane 90 Gasoline has been adjusted upward by 30 fils to 1,080 fils per liter, and Octane 95 Gasoline by 15 fils to 1,375 fils per liter. Residential Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders will stay at JD 7 per cylinder, with industrial LPG subsidies continuing with an estimated budget of JD 2.4 million for November.
The committee noted that domestic benchmark pricing typically reflects the 30-day moving average of global oil benchmarks before the monthly adjustment date. Despite this, state fiscal buffers absorb the difference between actual landed costs and retail pump prices. Expected landed costs through late October were calculated at 1,132.1 fils/liter for Octane 90 Gasoline, 1,034.3 fils/liter for Diesel, and 1,047.8 fils/liter for Kerosene.
Since the crisis began, state subsidies and price variance absorption by the government have totaled approximately JD 290 million. The committee emphasized its commitment to monthly monitoring of international energy markets and supply chains to maintain fiscal stability while protecting domestic purchasing power.
