Foreign Ministry Addresses Fatal Traffic Accident Involving Jordanian Family in Syria

Amman: The Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is actively addressing the unfortunate death of a Jordanian citizen and the injury of four family members in a traffic accident. The incident involved a travel vehicle carrying Jordanian passengers on the Daraa highway in Syria.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry’s official spokesperson, Dr. Sufian Qudah, stated that the directorate and the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus have been diligently following up on the circumstances surrounding the accident in collaboration with relevant authorities in Syria. The accident resulted in the death of the father and left the mother and three children injured, though their condition is reported as stable.

Qudah noted that the embassy staff in Damascus has been in consistent contact with Al-Salam Hospital in Damascus, where the injured family members are receiving medical care. Arrangements are being made for the father’s body to be evacuated to another hospital before being transported to Jordan, in coordination with the family and after completing the necessary procedures.

Qudah conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Jordanian family affected by the tragedy and expressed wishes for a swift recovery for those injured.
