FM Safadi and Austrian Counterpart Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Amman: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Austrian Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs for European and International Affairs Beate Meinl-Reisinger held discussions in Amman to enhance cooperation between Jordan and Austria.

According to Jordan News Agency, both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through practical measures aimed at boosting collaboration across multiple sectors, including trade, tourism, investment, and education. The discussions also covered regional developments, with a focus on securing a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and facilitating humanitarian aid entry.

Safadi expressed support for initiatives led by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States to achieve a ceasefire and emphasized the need to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and end Israel’s violations in the occupied West Bank, which undermine the two-state solution.

The conversation also touched on the situation in Syria, with Safadi expressing Jordan’s support for the Syrian government’s reconstruction efforts. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing relations bilaterally and through cooperation with the European Union.
