Fair weather today, cold air mass to bring rain on Wednesday

Fair weather is expected to prevail countrywide on Tuesday as temperatures slightly rise, with clouds at high altitudes and southeasterly moderate winds, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

On Wednesday, a cold and wet air mass is forecast to impact the Kingdom, pushing temperatures to slightly below annual average, and bringing wintry conditions in most regions.

At night, clouds will build up making a chance for scattered showers in the northern and parts of the central regions, accompanied by thunder at times.

Cold conditions will continue on Thursday despite a slight rise in mercury levels, with a probability of rainfall in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across Jordan today will range between 20 and 17 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 11C or even 9C in the southern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be warmer with mercury reaching a high of 28C and a low of 16C.
