Fair weather, light showers forecast for three days

A slight drop in temperatures is expected on Sunday, becoming below their annual average, so it will pleasant in the highlands and moderate in other parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

Clouds at low altitudes are also forecast to appear in the northern and central regions, making a chance for light showers at night in the northern areas, the JMD added.

The weather department warned of poor visibility in the Badia and heights due to dust and fog formation.

On Monday, fair and partly cloudy weather will remain nationwide with spotty showers in the evening over the northern and central regions, the JMD predicted.

Toward Tuesday, mercury levels will further dip, marking 3-4 degrees below seasonal average, but similar moderate conditions will continue to persist with cloudy skies and a chance for light and scattered showers in some areas, the JMD noted.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Sunday will range between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 15C or even 11C in the southern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be hotter with mercury reaching a high of 33C and a low of 21C.
