Brussels: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen praised Jordan’s pivotal role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in fostering security and stability across the Middle East. In a post on her X account, von der Leyen emphasized the importance of Jordan’s contributions to regional peace.
According to Jordan News Agency, von der Leyen stated, “Europe deeply values the stabilising role that Jordan continues to play in the Middle East.” She highlighted the ongoing collaboration between Europe and Jordan, expressing commitment to a future of peace and prosperity in the Mediterranean region.
Von der Leyen also announced a financial and investment package of £3 billion aimed at advancing the EU-Jordan Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership. She further revealed plans for the first-ever EU-Jordan Summit, set to occur next year, marking a significant milestone in their partnership.
