Amman: Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman met with officials from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) at the ministry headquarters. The meeting included IUCN's regional advisor for West Asia, Khaled Marafi, Deputy Director-General Stewart Maginnis, and the regional office director, Dr. Hany El Shaer.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions centered on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry and IUCN, with a focus on activating national committees in West Asia. This includes efforts to support Jordan's National Committee for Nature Conservation to protect biodiversity and promote environmental sustainability.
The meeting underscored the necessity of institutional partnerships, technical knowledge exchange, and capacity building to effectively tackle environmental challenges and achieve shared environmental objectives. Both parties reiterated their commitment to working together for a sustainable future.
