Amman: Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh visited the Rehab Power Plant, emphasizing its capacity to manage the increased electricity demand during the summer months.
According to Jordan News Agency, the visit was part of the minister’s regular inspections to ensure that the electrical system is prepared and to review the approved operational plans of the facility. Minister Kharabsheh praised the Samra Electric Power Company (SEPCO) management and staff for their preparedness to meet consumer needs throughout the peak season.
During the visit, the minister received a briefing on the strategies in place to provide efficient power supplies, particularly following the maintenance scheduled for this year. The measures discussed aim to enhance the operational efficiency of the 270 megawatt plant, which is operated by skilled personnel.
Rehab Station Director Mohammad Shayab also elaborated on operational procedures and emergency responses, such as the transition to diesel power during natural gas supply interruptions.
