Amman:An elderly man was taken into custody after a social media video showing him physically assaulting a young girl resurfaced.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Public Security Directorate's Family and Juvenile Protection Department identified the location of the incident, confirming it occurred three years ago during domestic disputes that were not reported at the time.
Authorities have verified that the suspect is the child's paternal grandfather. The girl and her mother have been assessed by officials, who confirmed that the child is safe, in good health, and currently living with her mother while protective legal and social measures are being implemented.
