Education Ministry denies collapse of classroom ceiling in northern school

The Ministry of Education on Wenesday denied the collapse of the ceiling of a classroom in a school in the Al-Aghwar ash-Shamaliyah district, northern Jordan.

Ministry spokesperson, Ahmad Masafah, disregarded as “incorrect” the circulated picture of a collapsed classroom ceiling in a school in the Al-Aghwar ash-Shamaliyah district.

He explained that a light water leakage from the upper floor of a classroom in the Tourist Village School was discovered, therefore the students will be transferred as of tomorrow to study in the evening shift in the Rasanah Elementary Mixed School as a precaution.

The students will be transferred to the new school via the Education Directorate’s buses, Masafah added in a statement.
