Education Minister Highlights Digital Transformation and Teacher Roles as New School Year Commences

Amman: Education Minister Azmi Mahafzah on Saturday delivered a message to teachers and students as the new school year begins. Education Minister Azmi Mahafzah emphasized the critical role of educators and the ministry’s strategic focus on digital transformation in his address.

According to Jordan News Agency, Mahafzah articulated his vision for the academic year by drawing inspiration from His Majesty King Abdullah II’s belief in human capital as the nation’s greatest asset, positioning education as the quickest route to development and progress. The minister underscored the importance of teachers, describing them as “bearers of the mission and agents of change” who are crucial to a successful and impactful educational system.

Mahafzah expressed confidence in the students’ abilities to learn, innovate, and solve problems, urging them to actively contribute to nation-building. He highlighted the ministry’s concerted efforts toward digital transformation, noting that the curricula have been fully digitized. Additionally, a comprehensive national educational platform is currently in development, and the ministry is upgrading school infrastructure to ensure that technology serves as an enhancement to learning, rather than a replacement of its core. This approach aims to equip students with the necessary tools and language of the digital age, preparing them for future challenges.
