Customs destroyed ten tons of smuggled, expired goods and medicines

Nehm Customs Centre in Sana’a province on Tuesday destroyed 10 tons of contraband, detained, seized and unauthorized goods and medicines.

The director of the center, Youssef Al-Ammari, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the destroyed amount contained 132 items, including quantity of expired and smuggled medicines, expired imported fruits and a quantity of electronic hookah.

He indicated that the damaged quantity included damaged and expired goods, including expired children’s nutritional supplements.

He stated that the process of destruction had been carried out through burning and in the presence of representatives of various parties.

Al-Ammari stressed that the center will not tolerate to control the various smuggled goods and materials that were not authorized to enter the country for the benefit of the nation and the health and safety of citizens.
