Crisis Management Centre launches drill Sunday

The National Center for Security and Crisis Management Sunday launches a drill with the participation of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army and security services, various state institutions and the private sector, in cooperation with the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Colorado National Guard (CONG) and the US Embassy in Amman.

The exercise aims to check the readiness and public safety in dealing with hazardous materials (chemical, biological, and radioactive) in various locations across the Kingdom.

The exercise, dubbed “Jordan Shield”, will run until Tuesday, featuring various events in the suburbs of Amman and the governorates of Irbid, Zarqa, and Aqaba. It will see activities by various agencies and institutions, as well as security presence, closures, and rescue operations, sirens, evacuations and moving machinery.

The center carries out national drills the year round in various regions of the Kingdom to test national plans in the areas of crises and natural disasters.
