COVID kills 17 in Jordan, positive tests at 7.2 percent

COVID-19 killed 17 in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 11,255 and some of 3,441 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to 895,564, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).

The MoH said in a press statement Monday that 7.26 percent of the 47,391 tests conducted today came back positive.

It said 86 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 126 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients receiving medical treatment in hospitals hit 735.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom hovers around 30,903, it added.

Some 853,406 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.
