Amman: Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani emphasized the crucial role of media spokespeople in ministries and official institutions as key partners in conveying the state and government’s messages and ensuring clear communication with both the media and the public.
According to Jordan News Agency, during a meeting on Tuesday with media spokespeople, digital media officials, and liaison officers responsible for the government’s media agenda, Momani, in the presence of the Ministry’s Secretary-General Zaid Nawaisah, highlighted the ministry’s commitment to supporting media professionals in fulfilling their duties with professionalism and objectivity.
Momani underscored the necessity of institutionalizing media operations within ministries and institutions following official decisions made at the ministerial or Cabinet level. He called for an integrated media strategy to enhance public awareness of these decisions, their significance, and their impact on citizens, particularly in improving government services.
He further noted the ministry’s efforts to instill a culture of structured media planning within government institutions, utilizing performance indicators to drive improvement. He also emphasized the importance of engaging directly with the public through social media and digital platforms to address inquiries and disseminate accurate information.
Momani highlighted the growing engagement with the government media agenda across various media outlets, revealing that the government is set to launch an electronic application to facilitate access to this agenda for media professionals.
Additionally, he reiterated the ministry’s readiness to provide training for media spokespeople and digital media officials within government institutions, thereby enhancing their skills and effectiveness in their roles.
For his part, Nawaisah stated that the ministry has completed the first phase of the executive plan for the government communication policy, which is expected to be finalized by June. He reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to strengthening the role of media professionals in government institutions.
