Amman: Chief Islamic Justice Abdul Hafiz Rabta on Wednesday received Syria's Minister of Awqaf, Mohammad Shukri, in the presence of President of the Higher Sharia Court Kamal Smadi and several Sharia judges, as part of an official visit to the Kingdom.
According to Jordan News Agency, Rabta welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the Jordanian-Syrian relations. He also called for strengthening bilateral cooperation and coordination in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II's directives to advance joint pan-Arab action, provide support to Syrians, and facilitate cooperation avenues.
The discussions reviewed the status of the Supreme Judge Department within Jordan's Sharia justice system and its role in promoting social security, stability, and safeguarding family cohesion within the framework of Islamic Sharia.
The talks also addressed issues of mutual interest, explored mechanisms to enhance cooperation, and discussed strengthening mutual communication and coordination to advance shared objectives.
For his part, Shukri expressed his gratitude for the reception, commending the role played by the Supreme Judge Department and Jordan's experience in Sharia and judicial affairs. He affirmed Syria's commitment to deepening cooperation and maintaining joint continuous coordination.
