Bahrain Condemns Israeli Proposal for Palestinian State in Saudi Arabia

Manama: Bahrain on Sunday strongly condemned as “irresponsible” an Israeli proposal to establish a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia, calling it a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry emphasized its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and underscored its commitment to the security, stability, and sovereignty of the kingdom.

According to Jordan News Agency, the official Bahrain News Agency released a statement from the Foreign Ministry reiterating that a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East depends on protecting the rights of the Palestinian people. The statement emphasized that peace cannot be achieved by evicting Palestinians from their lands, but rather by establishing an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state. Such a state, the ministry argued, would allow for peaceful coexistence in accordance with international resolutions and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.
