Karak:Amman Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Al-Khalaileh has condemned the recent terrorist attack targeting a church in the Karak Governorate, describing it as a heinous criminal act that is unequivocally rejected on both religious and humanitarian grounds. He emphasized that such acts contradict the teachings of Islam and all other religions.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Khalaileh highlighted Jordan's role as a model of national cohesion and unity, where people are bound by brotherhood, love, and coexistence. He stressed that terrorism does not differentiate between Muslims and Christians and that these criminal acts do not represent Jordan or its values of peace and tolerance.
Al-Khalaileh pointed out that Jordan has set an example for the world with its model of religious coexistence, as demonstrated by the Amman Message and the World Interfaith Harmony Week initiative. He stated that targeting places of worship and innocent people goes against the message of Islam, which is based on compassion, humanity, and respect for others.
Furthermore, Al-Khalaileh asserted that the perpetrators of such crimes do not embody authentic Islamic scholarship and that true religious knowledge does not support attacks on innocent individuals or places of worship. He called for intellectual and ideological efforts, alongside security measures, to counter extremist ideologies and pursue those involved.
The minister also extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the attack, praying for God's mercy on the deceased, comfort for their families and loved ones, and a speedy recovery for the injured.
