Amman: Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC) organized a field visit Monday for ambassadors from ASEAN member states to introduce them to the investment advantages and services of the Zarqa Industrial Estate.
According to Jordan News Agency, the envoys of Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, and Thailand noted the strong relations between Jordan and their countries. They emphasized the importance of arranging visits by economic delegations from their countries to examine Jordan's investment environment, particularly at Zarqa Industrial Estate, highlighting its infrastructure and investor incentives.
JIEC Chairman Obaid Yassin stated that the company is seeking to place Zarqa Industrial Estate on local, Arab, and international investment promotion platforms. He mentioned that the visit builds on JIEC's promotional efforts following His Majesty the King's recent visit to the estate and his directives to promote it and provide incentives to attract investment.
The initiative also leverages Royal efforts to promote Jordan's investment environment during visits to several of the participating countries and meetings with business leaders and investors, Yassin added. JIEC Director General Oday Obeidat remarked that the company has attracted eight industrial investments to Zarqa Industrial Estate across several sectors and is preparing to launch a promotional campaign targeting local and foreign markets.
Obeidat highlighted that Zarqa Industrial Estate is Jordan's first green industrial estate, incorporating advanced renewable energy solutions and Internet of Things systems. He noted that the estate seeks to reduce energy and water costs through rainwater-harvesting projects and the provision of natural gas. The estate's first phase has been completed and includes sustainable solutions, such as solar power, electric vehicle charging stations, green spaces, recycling systems, and energy-efficient infrastructure.
