Amman: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) experienced a trading surge on Wednesday, with turnover reaching JD16.2 million as investors engaged in 5,310 transactions involving 7.7 million shares. The ASE General Index climbed 0.53 percent, closing at 3,978 points compared to the previous session.
According to Jordan News Agency, of the 101 companies whose shares were traded, 35 saw their stock prices increase, while 39 experienced a decline from their previous closing prices. Sector performance was varied, with the industrial and financial indexes showing growth of 1.52% and 0.67%, respectively. In contrast, the services sector index fell by 0.56%.
