Irbid: Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti visited the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and met with university president Khaled Salem to discuss strengthening cooperation in academic, scientific, and training fields.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to support national interests and promote integration between military and academic institutions. During his visit, Huneiti attended a presentation by Dr. Salem, which outlined the university's history, academic programs, degrees offered, and key achievements in education and scientific research.
The presentation highlighted JUST's efforts to keep pace with technological advancements and support student entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives. Huneiti emphasized that the visit reflects Royal directives aimed at advancing modernisation and development within the Jordan Armed Forces through strategic partnerships with universities and scientific institutions.
In the presence of senior Armed Forces officers, university vice presidents, and faculty deans, Salem reviewed the university's achievements in international rankings, underscoring its leading positions locally and regionally across various academic and research disciplines. He reaffirmed the university's commitment to developing an advanced educational and research environment while expanding partnerships with national institutions.
Huneiti praised the university's distinguished scientific standing at both local and regional levels, as well as the achievements of its faculty members and students. He described these accomplishments as a key pillar supporting Jordan's development and modernisation efforts across various sectors.
