Amman: Chief of the Joint Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Huneiti, on Thursday received the UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa (DSAME), Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting took place at the General Command headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions between Huneiti and Ahlgren focused on regional and international developments, with particular attention to enhancing joint military cooperation across various fields. This dialogue is part of the ongoing "strategic" defense partnership between Jordan and the United Kingdom, reflecting the commitment of both nations to collaborate on military initiatives.
Ahlgren expressed appreciation for Jordan's efforts, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to foster security and stability in the region. He emphasized the United Kingdom's interest in expanding military cooperation with Jordan, highlighting the importance of this relationship.
The meeting was attended by several senior JAF officers and the British Defense Attach© in Amman, underscoring the significance of the collaborative efforts between the two countries.
