Arab Parliament Condemns Iran Attack on UAE Oil Tanker

Amman: Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al Yamahi on Monday condemned a "blatant" Iranian attack by two drones on a UAE oil tanker owned by ADNOC as it transited the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Jordan News Agency, the attack is a serious violation of international laws, conventions, and resolutions that guarantee freedom of navigation in international waterways, Al Yamahi said in a statement. He urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility and take firm, deterrent action against such violations to safeguard maritime security, protect international shipping lanes, and hold perpetrators accountable, adding that such attacks threaten regional and international security and global energy security.

The head of the Arab Parliament reiterated full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates in all measures it takes to preserve its security, sovereignty, and stability.
