Amman: Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Sunday condemned “in the strongest terms” an Israeli statement calling for the transfer of Palestinians to Saudi Arabia. “Such statements reflect a complete detachment from reality,” he stated.
According to Jordan News Agency, Aboul Gheit expressed his total rejection of the proposal and reiterated that a Palestinian state will only be established on the land of Palestine that was occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This means the establishment of a state in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, without any separation.
Aboul Gheit further emphasized that “any other ideas are only wishful thinking or illusions that only exist in the minds of those who utter them,” dismissing the notion of transferring Palestinians to Saudi Arabia as unrealistic and detached from the objectives of a peaceful resolution.
