Arab Leaders Fully Support Egypt’s Gaza Reconstruction Plan Without Displacement, Says Egyptian Presidency

Amman: Arab leaders have expressed full support for Egypt’s reconstruction plan, which was presented at the summit, the Egyptian presidency said on Monday, adding that the backing was reflected in the summit’s final statement.

According to Jordan News Agency, the presidency stated that Arab leaders discussed ways to support the Palestinian cause, reaffirming their categorical rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians or attempts to eliminate the Palestinian cause. They reiterated the Arab position on establishing an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the only path to lasting peace in the region.

Presidential spokesperson Mohamed El-Shinawy said the summit also reviewed and approved Egypt’s plan to rebuild Gaza without displacing its residents. Arab leaders fully endorsed the initiative, a position reflected in the summit’s final statement, he added.
