Aqaba Schools Closed Thursday Over Expected Weather Conditions

Aqaba: Director of the Aqaba Education Directorate, Abdulwahab Al-Hajaj, in coordination with Aqaba Governor Ayman Al-Awayesheh, decided to suspend classes in all schools across the governorate on Thursday due to expected weather conditions and in the interest of student safety.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Awayesheh stated that the suspension is a precautionary measure against potential flash floods and the flow of valleys throughout the governorate. The decision aims to ensure the safety of students as some areas may experience floods carried through valleys expected on Thursday morning. These floods could form across different regions even after the rainy conditions have ceased, emphasizing the necessity for vigilance and adherence to safety protocols.

Al-Awayesheh urged parents and students to exercise caution and avoid risky areas prone to water accumulation and flooding. He advised relying solely on official sources for information and encouraged reporting any emergencies to the relevant authorities.
