AND carries out 3 anti-drug operations in Aqaba, Ramtha district-PSD

Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) continued its crackdown aimed at arresting drug dealers and promoters and raiding their hideouts across the Kingdom.

 

In a press statement on Wednesday, the media spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said AND carried out 3 new “qualitative” busts and arrested 4 drug dealers and promoters in the southern Aqaba governorate and northern Ramtha district, and found firearms and quantities of narcotics in their possession.

 

In Aqaba, a drug dealer was arrested in possession of narcotic quantities ready for trafficking. By searching his home, in coordination with Jordan Customs Department (JCD), 3 kg of hashish and 10,000 narcotic pills were found, the spokesperson said.

 

In Ramtha, AND dealt with two cases. In the first, a “wanted” person was arrested, who tried to use an automatic firearm against the security force, and quantities of narcotic cannabis were found in his possession prepared for sale and the weapon was seized.

 

In the second incident, two drug traffickers and dealers were nabbed and quantities of various narcotic substances prepared for sale and a firearm were confiscated, the official noted.
