Amman Mayor Explores Enhanced Cooperation with Japanese Ambassador

Amman: The Mayor of Amman, Yousef Shawarbeh, engaged in discussions with Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Asari Hideki, on Tuesday, focusing on enhancing collaboration and joint initiatives between their respective entities.

According to Jordan News Agency, Shawarbeh outlined the Greater Amman Municipality’s (GAM’s) plans and projects aimed at improving its services. He emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Amman and Tokyo. Ambassador Hideki acknowledged the significant developments occurring in Amman, particularly in municipal services and culture.

The ambassador commended GAM’s efforts in infrastructure development and service quality improvement for the city and its residents. He expressed the Japanese government’s readiness to further enhance cooperation and share expertise for mutual benefit.

In collaboration with the Japanese government, GAM has organized numerous cultural activities, events, and community development projects. The municipality has also implemented several initiatives targeting urban infrastructure rehabilitation, city center enhancement, and improved flood management in Amman.
