Amman:Major roads throughout Amman will experience closures on Friday for the 2026 Bromine Amman Marathon. Traffic restrictions will start at midnight and last until noon, as announced by the Jordanian Marathon Association (Run Jordan).
According to Jordan News Agency, the marathon will include a 42.195-kilometer full marathon, a 21-kilometer half marathon, and a 10-kilometer race. Run Jordan stated that the road closures were coordinated with authorities to ensure the safety of runners and manage the flow of traffic.
The closures for the full and half marathons will begin at midnight, affecting the route from the new Raghadan Complex through Al-Jaish Street, both directions of the Hashemite Plaza, Quraysh Street, and Ali Bin Abi Talib Street up to the Muhajireen traffic lights. Streets such as Omar Matar, King Talal, and Al-Hashemi will also be closed until noon. These marathons will start at 6 a.m.
A second set of closures for the 10-kilometer race will start at 6 a.m., continuing until noon. Queen Alia Street will be closed from Sports City Circle to Interior Ministry Circle, and Queen Noor Street from Interior Ministry Circle to Fourth Circle. Uqbah Bin Nafi Street and Princess Basma Street will also be closed along the race route towards the Hashemite Plaza. The 10-kilometer race will begin at 9 a.m.
Run Jordan has advised motorists to plan their travel on Friday morning by using alternative routes and following instructions from traffic officers where diversions are in place. The event slogan is "Run in the Heart of Amman," and it aims to bring together participants from various race categories.
