Amman: The Ministry of Agriculture and the Department of Statistics have signed a consultancy services agreement with the Higher Council for Food Security to conduct a comprehensive survey on food security in the Kingdom.
According to Jordan News Agency, Agriculture Minister Saeb Khraisat stated that the agreement aims to strengthen the national food security system by providing accurate and comprehensive data, which will support national efforts to achieve food security. The initiative is part of a decision by the Higher Council for Food Security to conduct an annual survey, aligning with international standards and helping policymakers develop suitable future plans. Khraisat praised the Department of Statistics for its efforts, data accuracy, and expertise in statistical studies.
Director General of the Department of Statistics, Haidar Furaihat, emphasized the importance of collaborating with the Higher Council for Food Security and national entities to provide economic data and indicators that enhance food security. He noted that the department would utilize all its expertise to serve the public interest.
