Addis Ababa: Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has reaffirmed his rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people or impose a new “Deal of the Century,” asserting that such plans are delusional.
According to Jordan News Agency, Abbas made these remarks during his participation in the 38th African Union summit, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The summit’s agenda encompasses the Palestinian cause alongside discussions on Sudan and Libya. Other topics include justice, food security, digital transformation, climate change, and the acceleration of access to clean cooking solutions in Africa, as well as enhancing economic integration among member states.
The African Union, consisting of 55 countries, was established in 2002 as a successor to the Organization of African Unity. Its primary aim is to foster greater continental integration and establish a common market.
