Amman:The Ministry of Water and Irrigation, alongside the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ), has identified three instances of tampering with major water pipelines in the Talbieh Camp area, located south of Amman.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discovery was made during a campaign conducted in partnership with the Miyahuna Water Company and the Public Security Directorate (PSD). The campaign aimed to identify illegal encroachments on the area's main water pipelines.
The operation revealed three cases of water theft involving pipelines with diameters of 2 inches and 3/4 of an inch. Following the detection, the illegal fixtures were disconnected by the authorities.
The ministry further announced that specialized committees will estimate the volume of water that was illegally siphoned off. These committees will also prepare necessary official reports against those responsible, as part of the process to take legal action in line with established procedures.
